Charles Alvin Walker, son of the late Charley and Damie Whitehead Walker, was born in Naylor, Missouri on January 9, 1927, and passed away at the the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff on March 17, 2013, at the age of 86 years, 2 months and 8 days.
He had lived in Michigan from 1950 to 1964, then he moved to Dexter. He had worked for Federal Mogal in Malden until his retirement in 1992. He was a member of the White Oak Grove General Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and wood working.
On June 15, 1946, he was married to Jessima Riddle in Piggott, Arkansas.
Surviving are his wife, Jessima Walker of Dexter; one daughter, Charie Kay Mason of Bernie; three grandchildren, Ryan Mason of Paragould, Arkansas, Amber Martin and Sean Mason both of Dexter, Missouri; and 7 great grandchildren. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one son Michael Joe Walker; 3 brothers, Alvie, Bill & Norman Walker; five sisters, Edith Downey, Lela Adams, Lillie Boyle, Nora Keesee and Anna Mae Flippin, and a set of twins, brother and sister at birth.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 20, 2013, after 11:00 a.m. at the White Oak Grove General Baptist Church in Bernie, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at the White Oak Grove General Baptist Church in Bernie with the Rev. M. C. Moore of Dexter officiating.
Interment will be in the Smith Stevenston Cemetery near Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
