Charles Jerome Rogers, the son of the late Charles E. and Romaine Goodrich Rogers, was born in Esty, Michigan on March 13, 1940, and passed away at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on October 31, 2008, at the age of 68 years, 7 months and 18 days. Mr. Rogers moved to Southeast Missouri in 1944, and had lived Stoddard and Wayne Counties most of his life. He was a resident of Lowndes, Missouri. He was a member of the Community Church of Christ near Lowndes, Missouri and loved to fish and hunt. On September 5, 1970, he was married to Patsy Jones in Dexter, Missouri. Surviving are his wife, Patsy Rogers of Lowndes, Missouri; four sons, Edwin Rogers of San Angelo, Texas, Travis, Shane and Donald Rogers all of Lowndes, Missouri; seven daughters, Tressa Winkler of Hillsboro, Missouri, Tammy Whitaker of Lonedell, Missouri, Tammy Cox and Rebecca Hicks both of Lowndes, Missouri, Heather Fischer of St. Peters, Missouri, Holly Rogers and Monica Rogers both of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; twenty grandchildren; two great grandchildren; five sisters, Phyllis Walk of McGee, Missouri, Carol Jones of Puxico, Missouri, Sharon Baker of Doe Run, Missouri, Peggy McAtee of Advance, Missouri and Vicky Turner of Lowndes, Missouri. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one son, Russell Wayne Rogers, and one brother, Ronald Rogers. Friends may call after 10:00 AM on Sunday November 2, 2008, at the Community Church of Christ near Lowndes, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 2, 2008, at 12:00 PM at the Community Church of Christ near Lowndes, Missouri with Bro. Jack Rogers of Lowndes, Missouri and Bro. Dale Rogers of Dexter, Missouri officiating. Interment will follow in the Community Church of Christ Cemetery near Lowndes, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
