Charles E. Placher, son of the late Martin "Cliff" and Melissa Sifford Placher, was born in Puxico, Missouri on January 30, 1937, and passed away at his home near Puxico, Missouri on November 30, 2010, at the age of 73 years and 10 months. Mr. Placher had lived in the Puxico, Missouri area all his life and was a graduate of Puxico High School in 1955. He had worked as a rural mail carrier from 1970 to 2005. He was a member of the Brown General Baptist Church near Puxico, Missouri. He served on the Puxico School Board from 1969 to 1981, was on the board of Duck Creek Township from 1990 to 2010 when his health forced him to resign, He had owned and operated Placher's Market in Kinder for 25 years. He enjoyed bird hunting, working outdoors and helping his friends and neighbors. On August 8, 1956, he was married to Phyllis Fish during Puxico Homecoming in Puxico, Missouri. Surviving are his wife, Phyllis Placher of Puxico, Missouri; one son & spouse, Jeffrey C. & Kelli Placher of Puxico, Missouri; one daughter & spouse, Pamela & Roger Harmon of Puxico, Missouri; five grandchildren, Robert Harmon, Ryan Harmon, Samantha Watkins, Hunter Placher and Gunner Robbins; three great grandchildren, Miley Harmon, Johnathan Watkins and Jacob Harmon; two brothers & spouses, Ray & Jean Placher and Johnny & Louann Placher all of Puxico, Missouri; one sister, Mabel Ridenour of Fenton, Missouri. Other relatives and friends survive. Visitation will be Thursday, December 2, 2010, at 5:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri. Services will be held Friday, December 3, 2010, at 11:00 AM in the Brown General Baptist Church near Puxico, Missouri with the Rev. Ray Placher of Puxico, Missouri officiating. Interment will be in the Brown Cemetery near Puxico, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
