Charles Edward Baker
Charles Edward Baker, son of the late Riley Edward and Elsie Griffin Baker was born in St. Louis, Missouri on May 1, 1924, and passed away at the Golden Living Center in New Madrid, Missouri on March 16, 2010, at the age of 85 years, 10 months and 15 days.
He had lived in the Dexter most all his life. He was a retired truck driver and of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Baker also served in the US Army during WWII.
On November 21, 1971 he was married to Jennette Nave.
Surviving are two sons: Danny Baker of San Antonio, Texas and Chuck Baker of Moberly, Missouri. One Daughter: Brenda Sadler of Dexter, Missouri. Twelve grandchildren; eight great grandchildren. Other relatives and friends survive. He was preceded in death by one Sister: Mable Lewis and one Grandson: Christopher Wedland.
A Graveside Memorial Service will be held Friday, March 19, 2010, 2:00 PM at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Rev. Josh Carpenter of Dexter, Missouri officiating.
Internment will be in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
