Catherine L. Williams, the daughter of the late Lucian Ervin and Clara Hopkins Motsinger, was born in McDougal, Arkansas on January 9, 1924 and passed away at the Golden Living Center in Dexter, Missouri on October 27, 2009 at the age of 85 years. Mrs. Williams had lived in Morehouse, Missouri from 1963 to 1994, when she moved to Dexter. She was of the Assembly of God faith. In 1941, she was married to U. L. Sims. He preceded her in death in 1983. Surviving are two sons, Melvin "Sonny" Sims of Belton, Missouri, James "Jimmy" Sims of Princeton, Kentucky; seven daughters, Alma Smith, Anita Fyffe, and Lucille McIntyre all of Dexter, Missouri, Edna Kitchen of Sikeston, Missouri, Lilly Rodriquez of San Bernadino, California, Janet South of Fisk, Missouri, Connie Odum of Moss Point, Mississippi, 28 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; two brothers, Artis and Roy Motsinger both of Fredericktown, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one son, Raymond Sims, two daughters, Mary Savage and Donna Sims; one brother, Olin Motsinger; and three sisters, Nina Studt, Gracie Motsinger and Wanda Warfield. Friends may call on Thursday, October 29, 2009, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2009, at 1:00 PM in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Lester Clayton of Dexter, Missouri officiating. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Bell City, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
