Carolyn Janet Staggs, the daughter of Evelyn Cooper Wiseman and the late Odis Wiseman, was born in Sturdivant, Missouri on April 21, 1944, and lost her valiant battle to pancreatic cancer at her home in Bloomfield, Missouri on March 11, 2009, at the age of 64 years. She was always a strong willed person and fought hard to the very end.
Carolyn and her husband owned Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home where she worked until ill health forced her retirement. She attended Trinity United Methodist Church in Bloomfield. Carolyn enjoyed traveling and loved to cook. She especially enjoyed fixing the favorite dishes and meals for her children and grandchildren. Ask anyone who has tasted her cinnamon rolls and they will attest to her great cooking.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Melvin Staggs of Bloomfield, Missouri; three sons and their spouses, Keith and Michelle Bailey of Puxico, Missouri, Kent and Faith Bailey of Zalma, Missouri, Kenny and Tina Bailey of Advance, Missouri; two stepchildren and spouses, Scott and Micah Staggs, McKenna and Justin Bell all of Bloomfield, Missouri; three brothers, Dale Wiseman and David Wiseman both of Advance, Missouri, Vanice Wiseman of Piggott, Arkansas; three sisters, Jean Cato and Joan Wilson of Bloomfield, Missouri, June Milburn of Sullivan, Illinois; her grandchildren, Chastidy Caputo, Kristin Forbey, Jessica Bailey, Colton Bailey, Paige Bailey, Savanah Rogers, Trenton Rogers, Madison Staggs, Drew Bailey, Brooklyn Staggs, Phoenix Caputo and Foster Staggs. Other relatives and many friends survive to mourn her passing.
Friends may call on Thursday, March 12, 2009, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 13, 2009, at 10:00 AM in the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri with the Rev. Susan Hoyle officiating.
Interment will be in the Bloomfield Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
