Carl Otto Jarrell, the son of the late Elijah "Lige" Monroe and Bessie Bell Hopkins Jarrell, was born in Bloomfield, Missouri on February 27, 1929, and passed away at his home near Dexter, Missouri on October 27, 2006, at the age of 77 years and 8 months.
Mr. Jarrell had lived in Dexter, Missouri all his life. He was a Veteran of the US Army serving in Korea.
On October 17, 1953, he was married to Virginia Ferguson.
Surviving are his wife, Virginia Jarrell of Dexter, Missouri; three sons, Richard Boyd (Karen) Jarrell of Lawton, Oklahoma, Gordon Wayne Jarrell and Scotty Lee Jarrell both of Dexter, Missouri; one daughter, Jennette Yvonne Davis of Dexter, Missouri; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; one brother, Kenneth Jarrell of Dexter, Missouri; and one sister, Ruth Ann Ricketts of Walhalla, Michigan. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by two brothers, one in infancy, Kiplin Boyd Jarrell, and two sisters, Faye Strouts and Frances Carr.
Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Sunday, October 29, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 30, 2006, at 10:00 AM at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the American Legion Chaplain, Herb Zaricor of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, David Haase of Watervliet, Michigan, and Keith Meyers of Dexter, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri at 11:00 AM with Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
