Carl Gene Cravens, son of Leoma B. Nixon Cravens and the late William Riley Cravens, was born in Parma, Missouri on August 24, 1940, and passed away at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on September 23, 2011, at the age of 71 years and 30 days.
He lived in Parma, Missouri before moving to Memphis, Tennessee for his job in automotive sales. He retired and moved back to Parma, Missouri. He served in the Army and was a member of the Parma General Baptist Church of Parma in Parma, Missouri.
Surviving are his mother, Leoma B. Cravens of Parma, Missouri; one daughter, Sherry Slinkard of Mississippi; one brother, Carroll Glenn "Booder" Cravens of Parma, Missouri; and one sister, Sheila Kay and Sonny Brannon of Parma, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his father, William Riley Cravens and one brother, William Gary Cravens.
Friends may visit on Sunday, September 25, 2011, from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Parma, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 25, 2011, at 3:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Parma, Missouri with the Rev. Keith Kennedy of Catron, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Malden Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Parma, Missouri in charge of arrangements
