Bonnie Bess

Bonnie Lee Bess, daughter of the late J. O. and Maude Bowling Hunter, was born April 22, 1920, in Clinton, Arkansas and passed away at her home in Bloomfield on October 23, 2011, at the age of 91 years, 6 months and 1 day. Mrs. Bess had lived in Bloomfield for many years and attended the Trinity United Methodist Church in Bloomfield. She was first married to George Eldon Boswell in 1937. He preceded her in death in 1963. On December 24, 1968, she was married to Gerald M. Bess. He preceded her in death on December 13, 2007. Surviving are one daughter, Connie Pixley of Bloomfield; three sons & wives, Carroll & Deann Boswell of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Eldon & Suzanne Boswell of Scott City, Tom & Shirley Boswell of Puxico; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; two brothers, Doyne Hunter of Centralia, Missouri, Clark Hunter of Eldon, Missouri; four sisters, Jeanette McLaughn of Bakersville, California, Billie Mae Hunt of Scottsdale, Arizona, Lanora Shrum of Cape Girardeau, and Josephine Dicknite of Centralia, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by two sons, Billy Joe Boswell and Jay Boswell, and two brothers, Ovid and Jerry Hunter. Friends may call on Tuesday, October 25, 2011, after 11:00 am at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, October 25, 2011, at 1:00 pm in the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Rev. Susan Hoyle of Bloomfield officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Kennett, Missouri with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield in charge of arrangements.
