Bonita M. Heiligtag, the daughter of the late Cecil and Murrel Hickman Payton, was born in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on January 20, 1941, and passed away at the Puxico Nursing and Rehab Center in Puxico, Missouri on October 17, 2007, at the age of 66 years, 8 months and 27 days.
Mrs. Heiligtag had lived most of her life the Puxico area with the exception of thirty years in St. Louis, Missouri. She was a retired Beautician and had worked at Hans Coiffeurs. She was an avid Cardinal fan and loved NASCAR.
On August 19, 1996 she was married to Donald Heiligtag. He preceded her in death on September 22, 2005.
Surviving are one son and daughter in law, Troy and Holly Faries of Troy, Missouri; two grandchildren; one brother, Frank Payton of Pevely, Missouri; and two sisters, Caroline Smotherman and Jean Hubbert both fo Defiance, Missouri. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one son, Gary Wayne Hargrave.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday October 20, 2007, at 1:00 PM at the Puxico Cemetery in Puxico, Missouri with Bro. Sam Brotherton of Puxico, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Puxico Cemetery in Puxico, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
