Bobby Jones of Essex, Missouri, son of the late Rufus Jones and Lilly Dillinger Jones, was born on August 8, 1933, in Holland, Missouri, and passed away at his home in Essex, Missouri on November 8, 2014, at the age of 81 years and 3 months.
Mr. Jones had lived in St. Louis for 50 years before moving to Essex Missouri. He was a certified welder and painter for Stupp Bro. Bridge and Iron Company until he retired. Bobby was a veteran of the United States Army and was a member of the Garden Ridge General Baptist Church. On August 3, 1953 he married Betty Lou Cheatham in Bloomfield, Missouri.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Jones of Essex, Missouri; two daughters, Sharon Meredith of Cedar Hill, Missouri, Tanya Jones of Festus, Missouri; four sons, Don Jones of St. Louis Missouri, Bobby Jones of Festus, Missouri, Gary Jones of Hillsboro, Missouri, Michael Jones of Farmington, Missouri; seventeen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren. Many family and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and 1 brother and 2 sisters
Friends may call on Wednesday, November 12, 2014, after 11:00 a.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. in the Watkins & Sons Funeral Chapel, Missouri with the Rev. Bill Fox of Garden Ridge officiating.
Burial will be in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield with full military honors. Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
