Bobby Brown

Bobby L. Brown, son of the late Robert Marion and Ethel Bell Thomas Brown, was born in Broseley, Missouri on April 24, 1936, and passed away at the Puxico Nursing Center in Puxico on June 20, 2014, at the age of 78 years, 1 month and 27 days. He has lived in Puxico since 1972. He had lived in St. Louis, Flint, Michigan and in St. John, Missouri. He worked as an over the road truck driver, working for E.T.M.F. and A.B.F. companies, and retired in 1985. He was a member of the Teamsters for 30 years. He is a member of the New Life Baptist Church and has been an avid Cardinals fan his entire life. On February 19, 1954, he was married to Pauline High in St. Louis, Missouri. Surviving are his wife, Pauline Brown of Puxico; two sons and spouse, Kenny & Tina Brown of Mount Juliet, Tennessee, Clifford Brown of Forney, Texas; four daughters & spouses, Denise Hamlin of The Colony, Texas, Karen & Mark Culp and Theresa & Brad Sullivan both of Granite City, Illinois, Janice & Scott Burke of Royce City, Texas; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; four brothers, Curtis Brown of Port St. Joe, Florida, Paul Brown of Florence, Alabama, Tommy Brown of Shiloh, Illinois, Eddie Brown of Poplar Bluff; and two sisters, Arinda Littrel of O'Fallon, Missouri, Martha Wilson of Poplar Bluff. Other family and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Brown and Sylvia Smith; and four brothers, Lyman, Elton, Phillip and Ralph Brown. Visitation will be held on Monday June 23, 2014, after 11:00 a.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Monday June 23, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Puxico, Missouri with Rev. Harold Sitze of Puxico officiating. Interment will follow in the Puxico Cemetery in Puxico, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of arrangements.
