Billy Joe Williams

Billy Joe Williams, the son of the late Ernie and Bessie Williams, was born in Blytheville, Arkansas on May 6, 1930, and passed away at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri on November 21, 2006, at the age of 76 years, 6 months and 15 days. Mr. Williams had lived in Essex, Missouri since 1964. On June 28, 1953, he was married to Mildred Sanders in Piggott, Arkansas. She preceded him in death on December 19, 2003. Surviving are two sons, Ernie Williams and Danny Williams both of Essex, Missouri; three daughters, Wilma Gordon of Essex, Missouri, Billie Wethington of Bloomfield, Missouri, Paula Williams of Kingsport, Tennessee; 19 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; two brothers, Jimmy Williams of Huntington, Tennessee, Will Dee Williams of Wappapello, Missouri; two sisters, Kathy Mann and Paulette Williams both of Huntington, Tennessee. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen and Anna Maye, and three brothers, Runt, Ernest and Sonny. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, November 24, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2006, at 11:00 AM at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with Rev. Dennis Ward of Poplar Bluff, Missouri officiating. Interment will be in the Essex Cemetery in Essex, Missouri with Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
