Billy Ray Sanders, Sr., son of the late Elmer Junior and Clara Jane King Sanders, was born in Essex, Missouri on June 1, 1949, and passed away at his home in Dexter, Missouri on February 24, 2012, at the age of 62 years, 8 months and 23 days.
He had lived in Essex and Dexter, Missouri all his life. Bill had worked in the sanitation department at Tyson Foods and was a member of the Lighthouse Christian Center in Dexter, Missouri.
On October 19, 2011, he was married to Renita Rae Brown in Dexter, Missouri.
Surviving are his wife, Renita Sanders of Dexter, Missouri; four sons, Billy Ray Sanders, Jr. of Bernie, Missouri, Jeff Sanders of Texas, Christopher Brown and Michael Quinlan both of Dexter, Missouri; one daughter, Amanda Vaughn of Dexter, Missouri; 13 grandchildren; three brothers, Delbert Sanders & Adam Sanders both of Dexter, Missouri, Steve Sanders of Essex, Missouri; two sisters, Dortha Hess and Kathy Romero both of Dexter, Missouri. Other family and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one sister, Cindy Blackwell.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 26, 2012, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 27, 2012, at the Lighthouse Christian Center in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Tim Russell of Dexter, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in Essex Cemetery in Essex, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
