Billy Gene Cookson

Billy Gene Cookson, son of the late Everett and Tincy Harris Cookson, was born in Puxico, Missouri on May 12, 1934, and passed away at the Puxico Nursing & Rehab Center in Puxico, Missouri on December 23, 2006, at the age of 72 years, 7 months and 11 days. Mr. Cookson had lived Puxico, Missouri most of his life and was a graduate of the Puxico High School. He was veteran of the U. S. Navy. Surviving are two sons and daughter in law, Robert and Beverly Cookson of Dexter, Missouri, Steven Cookson of Puxico, Missouri; two grandsons, Aaron and Jared Cookson; one brother, Lyman Cookson of St. Clair, Missouri; and one sister and brother in law, Marvel and David Wheetley of Puxico, Missouri. Other relatives and many friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one brother, Dewain Cookson in 1981. Friends may call after 6:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 26, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2006, at 1:00 P.M. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri with the Rev. Ray Placher of Puxico, Missouri officiating. Interment will follow in the Puxico Cemetery in Puxico, Missouri with full military honors conducted by the Stoddard County Veteran's Honor Team. Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri in charge of all arrangements.
