Billie Jean Ellis Billie Jean Ellis, the daughter of the late Robert Arthur and Lula Bell McPeak Maclin, was born in Luxora, Arkansas on August 29, 1931 and passed away at her home in Dexter, Missouri on March 28, 2009 at the age of 77 years, 6 months and 30 days. Mrs. Ellis grew up in Luxora, Arkansas and moved with her husband to southern Illinois where they lived until they moved to Dexter in 1979. She retired from Elders Manufacturing where she worked as a seamstress and was of the Baptist Faith. On December 12, 1949 she was married to Marion F. Ellis in Piggott, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on August 8, 1995. Surviving are one daughter: April Barfoot of Campbell, Missouri and one son: Phillip Ellis of Dexter, Missouri. Five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Three brothers: R. A. Maclin of Malden, Missouri, A. L. Maclin of Parma, Missouri and John Maclin of Bernie, Missouri. Three sisters: Marie Parker of Broseley, Missouri, Ruby Green of Keiser, Arkansas and Mary Hutson of Hillard, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one brother J. B. Maclin and one sister Louellen Ollis. Friends may call on Wednesday, April 1, 2009, after 11:00 AM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at 1:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Bill Pennington of Bloomfield, Missouri officiating. Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
