Bill Modglin of Wappapello, Missouri, the son of the late John Franklin and Mandy Caldwell, was born on April 3, 1931, in Peach Orchard, Missouri, and passed away at the Advance Assisted Living Center in Advance, Missouri on October 3, 2014, at the age of 83.
Mr. Modglin had lived in Wappapello since 1968. He attended services at the Lake Wappapello Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.He retired from Hart - Shaffner - Marx Auto Dealership where he worked as lead mechanic.
On December 6, 1947 he was married to Margaret Pennington in Pocahontas, Arkansas. She preceded him in death on April 26, 1999
Surviving are one daughter and spouse, Diane and Gary Barnfield of Wappapello, Missouri; one son and spouse Doug and Rhonda Modglin of Puxico, Missouri; four grandchildren, Cari Pointer, Courtney Shackelford, Spencer Modglin, Brady Modglin; three great-grandchildren: Cade Pointer, Kelar Pointer, Dayton Shackelford. One sister: Colleen Lewis of Desoto, Missouri; two brothers: John Modglin of Columbia, Illinois and Asile Modglin of Washington, Missouri. He was preceded in death by one son Thomas W. Modglin and one brother Winfred Modglin
Friends may call on Sunday, October 5, 2014, after 6:00 p.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 6, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri with the Rev. Russ Chitwood of Advance officiating.
Burial will be in the Mt. Gilead Cemetery near Campbell, Missouri.
