Beverly A. Watts, daughter of the late Ray Raymond and Amanda Johnson Richards, was born in Albert Lea, Minnestota on September 12, 1928, and passed away in Puxico, Missouri on May 28, 2014, at the age of 85 years, 8 months and 16 days.
She had lived in Bethany, Oklahoma before moving to Puxico in 1996. She was a member of the Duck Creek Baptist Church near Puxico. She loved taking care of her grandchildren and making poppy seed cakes and sharing them.
On April 11, 1953, she was married to Jack John Watts in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on April 17, 2008.
Surviving are one daughter and husband, Linda & Sam Phillips of Puxico, Missouri; one son and wife, Dan & Laurie Watts of Augusta, Georgia; four grandchildren & spouses, Angela Cowan, David & Sharon Phillips all of Puxico, Aimee & Greg Mauk of Oklahoma and Aaron & Heidi Watts of Florida; five great grandchildren, Justin Cowan, Cody Trentelman and Dalton Phillips all of Puxico, Macy Mauk of Oklahoma and Cadence Watts of Florida; two great great grandchildren, Alissa and Hunter Cowan of Puxico; two sisters, Betty Gatewood and Virginia Richards both of Iowa. Other relatives and friends also survive. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Gordon Richards; and one sister, Gertrude Warrick.
Visitation will be held on Saturday May 31, 2014, after 10:00 a.m. at the Duck Creek Baptist Church near Puxico, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday May 31, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at the Duck Creek Baptist Church near Puxico, Missouri with the Rev. David Edwards of Poplar Bluff and Buck Cruse of Puxico officiating.
Interment will follow in the Duck Creek Cemetery near Puxico, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of arrangements
