Beulah O'Conner

Beulah Alma Andrews Davis O'Conner, 85, of Wappapello, Missouri passed away in the morning hours of February 23, 2012, at her home. She was born in Wolf Lake, Illinois on November 24, 1926, daughter of the late Aden Robert Andrews and Hester Hodge Andrews. She grew up and attended school in the Puxico-Asherville areas in Stoddard County, Missouri. She had lived most of her life in Dexter and Wappapello. She was a member of the Egypt Community Church in Puxico, was a former member of the Eastern Star and enjoyed gardening, cooking and her family. She married James Frank Davis in 1942, and had three children. She wed Vondie William O'Conner, Sr., in 1952, and had five more children. After welding navel ships during World War II in Rhode Island, Beulah dedicated her professional life to food preparartion and food service in the Southeast Missouri region, as a manager, restauranteur, cook and waitress. She established life-long friendships with many of her customers and co-workers. She is survived by her eight children, Ronald Davis of Sebring, FL, Daniel Davis of Las Vegas, NV, Susan Davis of Fairbanks, AK, Vondie O'Conner, Jr. of Ratoui, KS, Michael O'Conner of Decatur, IL, Calvin O'Conner of Van Buren, AR, Arthur O'Conner of Poplar Bluff and Margaret Lizenbee of Puxico; her sister, Helen Pennington of Wappapello, her brothers, Cecil Andrews of Wappapello, Robert Andrews of Puxico and Carroll David Andrews of McGee; nine grandchildren, Christopher, Kelly, Lindsey, Kristen, Cody, Dalton, Aaron, Justin and William; two great grandchildren, Emma and Wade. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in deah by her siblings, Lester Andrews, Mildred Crabtree, Lois Henley and Glen Andrews. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 27, 2012, at 11:00 AM at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 27, 2012, at 12:00 PM at the Watkins and Sons Chapel in Puxico with Rev. Wayne Burchett of Puxico officiating. Interment will be in Puxico Cemetery in Puxico, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of arrangements Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico is in charge of arrangements.
