Betty Jo Harp, daughter of the late A. W. & Nota Graves Summers, was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas on June 27, 1930, and passed away at her home in Morehouse, Missouri on March 12, 2010, at the age of 79 years, 8 months and 13 days.
Mrs. Harp had lived in Morehouse, Missouri most of her life. She was a member of the American Legion Post #114 Auxiliary in Sikeston, Missouri.
On January 14, 1947, she was married to Billie Joe Harp. He preceded her in death on August 4, 2000.
Surviving are two daughters and son in law, Brenda Henson and Denise & George Gross all of Morehouse, Missouri; two grandsons & spouse, Furl Lee Henson, II and Sean & Belinda Henson all of Morehouse, Missouri; two granddaughters and spouse, Jennifer & Justin Stinnett and Melanie Buckley all of Morehouse, Missouri; six great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Chase, Kaylee, Kent, Carter and Thunder; one brother and spouse, Charles & Phyllis Summers of Muscle Shoals, Alabama. Many other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one brother, A. W. Summers, Jr., one son in law, Furl Henson, one grandson, Justin Lee Henson and a special friend, I. B. McNew, Sr.
Friends may call on Saturday, March 13, 2010, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Morehouse, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 14, 2010, at 2:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Morehouse, Missouri with Bro. Randy Conn of Morehouse, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Morehouse, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
