Betty Louise Meier Hardesty, the daughter of the late Harry J. and Welta Lewis Meier, was born in Parma, Missouri on October 24, 1927, and passed away at the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on May 29, 2006, at the age of 78 years, 7 months and 5 days.
She had lived in Parma, Missouri most of her life, but had lived in Gulfport, Mississippi for two and a half years. She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Malden, Missouri.
On April 6, 1947, she was married to Bill Hardesty. He preceded her in death on February 25, 2003.
Surviving are two sons and a daughter in law, Terry Lee Hardesty, and Larry Dale & Traci Hardesty all of Parma, Missouri; two daughters and a son in law, Mary Frances Hardesty, and Barbara Ann and Stanley Brannon all of Parma, Missouri; a special friend, Carolyn Powers of Parma, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Brent Brannon, Jason Brannon, Emily Brannon, Michelle Hardesty, David Hardesty, Zack Biermann, Desiree Czoxchke, and Max Czoschke; three great grandchildren, Chloe Brannon, Zak Brannon, and C. J. Kimbal; three brothers, Don Meier of Nashville, Tennessee, Dennie Meier of Kelso, Missouri, and Ronnie Meier of Swartz Creek, Michigan. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive.
Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, May 30, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Parma, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 31, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Parma, Missouri with the Rev. Benjamin Meyer of Malden, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Parma, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
