Betty Harkness Bledsoe, daughter of the late Bryan and Allie Mae Pittman Roy, was born in Henning, Tennessee on May 22, 1932, and passed away at the Covington Care Center in Covington, Tennessee on October 14, 2012, at the age of 80 years, 4 months, and 22 days.
Mrs. Bledsoe had moved from Tennesse to Dexter, Missouri in 1972. She moved back to Tennessee in 2004. She was a member of the Poe Baptist Church.
On April 8, 1983, she was married to Mirel Bledsoe in Dexter, Missouri. He preceded her in death on March 28, 1997.
Surviving are two sons, Roy Harkness of Ripley, Tennessee, Danny Harkness of Des Arc, Missouri; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and one sister, Annette Gray of Covington, Tennessee. Other family and friends also survive her. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Bryan Roy, Jr., Tommy Roy and Franklin Roy; and one sister, Pauline Glenn.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 16, 2012, after 1:30 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at 2:30 PM at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri.
Interment will be in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
