Bessie Louise Goetz, the daughter of the late Henry and Vernice Ruhroede Winterburg, was born in Ava, Illinois on February 20, 1930, and passed away at the Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter, Missouri on February 12, 2009 at the age of 78 years, 11 months and 23 days.
Mrs. Goetz had lived in St. Ann's, Chester and Cahokia, Illinois before moving to Dexter, Missouri two years ago. She had worked as a seamstess at various factories. She was a member of the First Pentecostal Church in Dexter, Missouri. She loved sewing, music and singing.
On July 13, 1946, she was married to Charles William Goetz in Percy, Illinois. He preceded her in death on June 17, 2007.
Surviving are one daughter, Betty Cobb of Dexter, Missouri; two sons, Robert Lee Goetz of Cahokia, Illinois, Richard Joe Goetz of Bloomfield, Missouri; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; one brother, Albert Winterburg of Willisville, Illinois; and one sister, Ida Joust of Steelville, Illinois. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by three sons, William Frank Goetz, Charles Edward Goetz and David Allen Goetz.
Friends may call on Monday, February 16, 2009, from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at the First Pentecostal Church in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 16, 2009, at 2:00 PM in the First Pentecostal Church in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Joseph Geuin of Dexter, Missouri and Rev. David Illig, Jr. of Kennett, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be on Tuesday, February 17, 2009, at 11:00 AM in the Evergreen Cemetery in Chester, Illinois with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
