Bertie Johnson

Bertie Lou Johnson, the daughter of the late Albert Nathaniel and Cora Elizabeth Tippy Owens was born in Patterson, Arkansas on September 13, 1931, and passed away at her home in Dexter, Missouri on December 15, 2008 at the age of 77 years, 3 months and 2 days. Mrs. Johnson had lived in Dexter since 1960. She and her husband had owned Johnson Refrigeration before retirement and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are two sons, Mike Johnson of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Jason Johnson of Dexter, Missouri; two daughters, Rhonda Hall of Dexter, Missouri, Jeanine Bomar of Jackson, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; two brothers, Warren Owens of Farmington, Missouri and Bobby Owen of Steele, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one sister, Marie Atnip and three brothers, Revis, Doyle and Robert Owens. Friends may call on Thursday, December 18, 2008, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 19, 2008, at 11:00 AM in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with Dr. Bill Vail of Poplar Bluff, Missouri officiating. Interment will be in the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
