Bertha Violet Sapp
Bertha Violet Wood Henely Sapp, the daughter of the late William and Martha Stenson Mills, was born in Bertrand, Missouri, on August 30, 1911, and passed away at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter, Missouri on June 18, 2005, at the age of 93 years, 9 months and 19 days.
Mrs. Sapp had lived in Risco and Parma, Missouri for many years before moving to Bernie, Missouri four years ago. She was a member of the First Pentecostal Church.
She was first married to Preston Wood, then to James Henely, and on February 7, 1973, she was married to Mack Junior Sapp in Sikeston, Missouri. She was preceded in death by all three husbands.
Surviving are two sons, Bill Wood of Gary, Indiana, Harold Wood of Russellville, Arkansas; five daughters, Maxine Tharp of Parma, Missouri, Bonnie McDonald of Malden, Missouri, Connie Johnson of East Prairie, Missouri, Joyce Yarbro of Kennett, Missouri, Mary Palmer of Bernie, Missouri; 26 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren. Other relatives and friends also survive.
Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 21, 2005, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2005, at 2:00 P.M. in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with Bro. Ernest Buckett of Malden, Missouri officiating.
