Barbara Jean White, the daughter of Vadola Marie Overton Martin and the late Elmer Martin was born in Bloomfield, Missouri on April 2, 1953, and passed away at The St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau on October 8, 2009, at the age of 56.
Ms. White had lived most of her life in Puxico, Missouri graduating from Puxico High School's class of 1971 and has lived in Sedgewickville, Missouri for the last twenty-one years. She attended the Life Chapel Assembly Church in Puxico. She was a Secretary for Advance Pest Control.
Surviving are two daughters: Kayla Groves of Sedgewickville, Missouri and Shawna Britt of Jackson. Three grandchildren, Four Step-Grandchildren, One step Great - Granddaughter. Seven brothers: Gordon Martin of Wentzville, Ron Martin of Dexter, Duane Martin of St. Roberts, Gary Martin of Millersville, Tony Martin of Cape Girardeau, Roger Martin and Randy Martin both of Puxico. Three sisters: Gloria Massey of Sedgewickville, Priscilla Hull of Old Appleton and Lynetta Baldwin of Fronenac. Many nieces and nephews also survive. She is preceded in death by her father Elmer Martin and one nephew Eric Martin
Friends may call on Sunday, October 11, 2009, after 5:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, October 12, 2009, at 11:00 AM at the Rock Point Cemetery near Bloomfield with the Rev. Mike Huffman of Jackson officiating.
Interment will be in the Rock Point Cemetery near Bloomfield with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of arrangements.
