Barbara Joyce Gaines

Barbara Joyce Gaines, the daughter of Raleigh "Fuzz" and Mildred Walker Palmer, was born in Aquilla, Missouri on October 12, 1941, and passed away at the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on April 6, 2006, at the age of 64 years, 5 months and 25 days. She had lived in the Aquilla and Dexter, Missouri areas all of her life. She attended the Mt. Pisgah General Baptist Church in Aquilla, Missouri. On May 6, 1961, she was married to Richard D. Gaines in Dexter, Missouri. Surviving are her husband, Richard Gaines of Dexter, Missouri; one daughter, Tammy Jean Vaughn of Dexter, Missouri; one granddaughter, Angela Michelle Gardner of Bernie, Missouri; her parents, Raleigh "Fuzz" and Mildred Palmer of Aquilla, Missouri; one brother, Jim Palmer of Dexter, Missouri; two sisters, Elsie Lee Fry of Aquilla, Missouri and Kathy Hyslop of Advance, Missouri. Other relatives and many friends also survive. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Saturday, April 8, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM on Sunday, April 9, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Raymond Hannah of Fredericktown, Missouri officiating. Interment will be in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
