Audrey Whitworth, the son of the late Zimmer and Myrtle Lynn Whitworth, was born in Catron, Missouri on July 2, 1924, and passed away at his home in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on December 7, 2005, at the age of 81 years, 5 months and 5 days.
He had lived in the Parma and Catron areas for may years before moving to Flint, Michigan where he retired after 30 years with Buick Motors. Mr. Whitworth moved to Poplar Bluff, Missouri in 1981. He was a member of the Twin Springs Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
On October 2, 1944, he was married to Violet Borders in Piggott, Arkansas.
Surviving are his wife: Violet Whitworth of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; one son: Dennis Whitworth of Flint, Michigan. Five daughters: Shirley Wheat of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Sherry Trostel of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Sandra Johnson of Otter Lake, Michigan, Glenda Simpkins of Swartz Creek, Michigan and Brenda Southworth of Twining, Michigan, 15 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Other relatives and friends also survive.
Friends may call from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday December 9, 2005, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, December 10, 2005, in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Junior Vester of Poplar Bluff, Missouri officiating.
Interment will follow in the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri is in charge of arrangements.
