Aubrey Ray Gant, the son of the late Marvin Henry and Mary Jane Bell Gant, was born in Mauila, Arkansas on October 12, 1931, and passed away at the Poplar Bluff Regional Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on September 14, 2007, at the age of 75 years, 11 months, and 3 days.
Mr. Gant was a resident of Dudley, Missouri. He was a member of the Dudley Church of Christ. Mr. Gant was a veteran of the US Air Force where he served during the Korean War.
On July 10, 1954 he was married to Donnis Lee Litzler in Corinth, Mississippi.
Surviving are His wife Donnis Gant of Dudley, Missouri. Two sons: Bruce Gant of Dexter, Missouri and Darin Gant of Scott City, Missouri. One Daughter: Jane Kingree of Dudley, Missouri. One Brother: James Gant of Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Two sisters: Ruby Holman of Visala, California and Viola Williams of Springdale, Arkansas. Eight Grandchildren and Three Great-Grandchildren. Other relatives and friends also survive. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy and Bruce Gant as well as two sisters Beulah Morgan and Ann Mathews.
Friends may call on Monday September 17, 2007, 12 noon till service time at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Monday September 17, 2007, at 2:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Bro. Stan Dauck of Bernie, Missouri officiating Assisted by Gary Hicks.
Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Full Military Honors. Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
