Arzie Dale Cato, the son of the late Dolph Franklin and Gladys Deckard Cato, was born in Zalma, Missouri on December 24, 1924, and passed away at his home near Puxico, Missouri on July 24, 2008, at the age of 83 years and 7 months.
Mr. Cato had lived in the Puxico, Missouri area all of his life. He was a member of the Oak Grove General Baptist Church in Kinder, Missouri where he served as Deacon and had worked until retirement for the Missouri Department of Transportation.
On December 27, 1947 he was married to Mary Esarey in Kinder, Missouri.
Surviving are his wife Mary Cato of Puxico, Missouri; one son, Curtis Dale Cato of Sikeston, Missouri; one daughter, Edith Seabaugh of Advance, Missouri; two brothers, Earl Cato of Radcliff, Kentucky, Sandford Cato of Dexter, Missouri; two sisters, Wanda Brinker of Fayette, Alabama, Shirley Peek of Owensville, Missouri; eight grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. Many other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one sister Florence Green, two brothers, Cleo Cato and James Cato who died in infancy.
Friends may call on Sunday, July 27, 2008, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 28, 2008, at 11:00 AM in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Puxico, Missouri with the Rev. Ray Placher of Puxico, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Morgan Memorial Park Cemetery in Advance, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
