Arthur "Art" Dykes, Jr. of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, son of the late Arthur LeRoy, Sr. and Ethel Fay Buffington Dykes, was born in Witchita, Kansas on June 29,1961 and passed away on February 2, 2017, at St. Louis University Medical Center in St. Louis, at the age of 55 years, 7 months and 28 days.
Arthur had lived in Poplar Bluff since the 1990's. He was a diesel mechanic and had worked at Duckett Truck Center in Poplar Bluff. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
On September 4, 1995, he was married to Norma Smith in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Surviving are his wife, Norma Dykes of Poplar Bluff; one daughter, Emily Dykes of Poplar Bluff; four sons, Arthur L. Dykes, V, Joseph Dykes and Noah Dykes all of Poplar Bluff, Michael Hatcher of Highland Heights, Kentucky; two grandchildren; and one sister, Teresa Froese of Kansas. Other relatives and many friends also survive.
Friends may call on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral servces will be Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 1:00 p.m.
Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with full military honors.
