Aron "Jack" Thompson, the son of the late Jeff and Dessie Mae Young Thompson was born in Rosston, Arkansas on June 20, 1918, and passed away at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri on May 23, 2006, at the age of 87 years, 11 months and 3 days.
Mr. Thompson had worked as a shipping clerk for a furniture company and had worked for over 12 years for the Richland High School. He had lived in California for many years and had made his home in Essex, Missouri the past 33 years. He was a member of the New Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Essex, Missouri and was a veteran of the U. S. Army and served during WWII
On Febraury 18, 1975, he was married to Annie Hill in Malden, Missouri.
Surviving are his wife, Annie Thompson of Essex, Missouri, one daughter and husband, Angelia (Roy) Liggins of Sikeston, Missouri, six sons, Aron Thompson, Jr. Jackie Thompson, and Donnie Thompson all of Los Angeles, California, Andre Thompson of Essex, Missouri, Kelvin Jeff Thompson of Sikeston, Missouri, Steven Thompson of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one brother and wife, Daniel (Doris) Thompson of Rockford, Illinois, and one sister and husband, Opal (John) Lindsey of Detroit, Michian. Other relatives and many friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday May 27, 2006, at 11:00 AM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, MO with Rev. James Turk of Sikeston, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri on Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at 10:00 AM.
