Argus H. Coonts

Argus H. Coonts, son of the late Tony and Willa Mae Rhynes Coonts, was born in Mount Judea, Arkansas on August 9, 1930, and passed away at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri on January 14, 2006, at the age of 75 years, 5 months and 5 days. He had lived in Gideon and Malden for many years and moved to Morehouse, Missouri ten years ago. He was a retired self-employed auto mechanic. On July 9, 1952, he was married to Mary Jane Brant in Piggott, Arkansas who preceded him in death on May 12, 1994. Surviving are three sons, Wayne Coonts of Parkin, Arkansas, Joe Coonts of Gates, Tennessee, Clint Coonts of Malden, Missouri; three daughters, Jean Stroud of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Lisa McClain of Chaffee, Missouri, Leah Bollinger of Morehouse, Missouri; twelve grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one brother, Jimmie Coonts of Phoenix, Arizona; and one sister, Alta Mae Clements of Great Falls, Montana. Other relatives and many friends also survive. He was preceded in death by three brothers, one sister, one granddaughter, and one great granddaughter.
