Alpha L. Lacy, the daughter of the late Grover and Lura Welch Brawley, was born in Redford, Missouri on October 10, 1914, and passed away at the National Healthcare Facility in St. Charles, Missouri on December 29, 2006, at the age of 92 years, 2 months and 19 days.
Mrs. Lacy had lived in Morehouse, Missouri most of her life but had moved to St. Charles, Missouri years ago. She was a member of the Nazarene Church in Morehouse and later attended the Baptist Church.
On May 5, 1937, she was married to Harold Wilson Lacy in Morehouse, Missouri. He preceded her in death on November 4, 1976.
Surviving are one daughter, Anna Lou Rennier of St. Charles, Missouri; and three grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 5 Great-Great Grandchildren. Other relatives and many friends also survive. She was preceded in death by two sons, one in infancy and David Lacy, and three sisters, Mavis Bryant, Nina Street and Virginia Ferrell.
Friends may call from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Tuesday, January 2, 2007, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Morehouse, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2007, at 1:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Morehouse, Missouri with the Rev. Randy Thomas of Sikeston, Missouri officiating.
Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston, Missouri with Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Morehouse, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
