Alice C. Abbott, the daughter of the late Thomas L. and Carrie Bell Tracer Allstun, was born in Dexter, Missouri on February 20, 1911, and passed away at the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter, Missouri on January 31, 2007, at the age of 95 years, 11 months and 11 days. Mrs. Abbott was raised in Dexter and moved to Detroit, Michigan for many years and returned to Dexter in 1974. She had worked at the Ford Motor Company in Michigan and was a member of the Church of Christ. On May 14, 1948, she was married to Howard Lincoln Abbott in Detroit, Michigan. He preceded her in death on June 26, 1976. Surviving are two sons, Harold D. Smith of Cumberland Furnace, Tennessee, Billy J. Smith of Harrison, Michigan; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two brothers, Lorn and Walter Allstun both of Dexter, Missouri; and one sister, Ruth Larson of Bloomfield, Missouri. Other relatives and many friends also survive. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, February 2, 2007, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2007, at 11:00 AM at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with Bro. Don Bahr of Dexter, Missouri officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
