Alberta G. Ross, daughter of the late Albert and Edith Reeves Tate, was born in Idalia, Missouri on May 11, 1919, and passed away at the Ratliff Care Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on March 25, 2013, at the age of 93 years, 10 months and 14 days.
She had lived in Dexter, Missouri most of her life and moved to Jackson in 1983. While in Dexter she and her husband owned and operated the Ross's Sporting Goods Store. She was a member of the Lynwood Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting and spoiling her grandchildren.
In 1939, she was married to Hubert Lee Ross in Bloomfield. He preceded her in death on November 25, 2009.
Surviving are one daughter, Linda Valentine of Jackson; one son, Eddie Lee Ross of St. Louis; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Other relatives and many friends also survive. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Melvin Tate and Harold White; two sisters, Ellen Heaton and Norma Lee Brown.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter with the Lynwood Baptist Church Associate Minister, Pastor Kevin Coffey of Cape Girardeau, Missouri officiating.
Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
