Onie Clark, daughter of the late John Perkins and Eliza Ayers Bryant, was born around Malden, Missouri area, on April 6, 1928, and passed away at her home in Essex, Missouri on October 12, 2014, at the age of 86 years, 6 months and 5 days. Mrs. Clark had lived around the Essex and Penermon area her entire life. She was a member of the Bethel Ame Church in Sikeston, Missouri and had worked at Tyson for 20 years before she retired. She loved working in her yard and in her garden. On May 10, 1947, she was married to Theoplis Clark in Parma, Missouri. He survives in the home. Surviving are her husband, Theoplis Clark of Essex, Missouri; five sons, Theoplis Clark, Jr. of Bernie, Missouri, Ray Lavern Clark of South Haven, Mississippi, Glenn Edward Clark of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Keal Myron Clark of Essex, Missouri, and Marvin Crigler of Chesapeake Bay, Virginia; three daughters, Bernice Grayer of Essex, Missouri, Eliza Johnson of Sikeston, Missouri, and Lula Crigler of Chicago, Illinois; 17 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; two great great grandchild; four brothers, Henry and Russell Bryant both of Chicago, Illinois and Theodore and William Bryan, both of St. Louis, Missouri; one sister, Barbara Bryant of St. Louis. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by two grandsons, Myron Keith Johnson and Ray Lavern Clark, Jr.; six brothers, Thomas, John, and Louis Perkins, Oliver Bryant, T.L. Bryant, and L.C. Bryant; and one sister, Mary Crigler. Friends may visit Saturday, October 18, 2014, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 18, 2014, at 12:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri with her son, the Rev. Glenn Clark of Poplar Bluff, Missouri officiating. Interment with be in the Macedonia Cemetery in Malden, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
