Billy Joe Richard, the son of the late John W. and Eva Duren Richard, was born in Stoddard County, Missouri on January 16, 1937, and passed away at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on September 23, 2005 at the age of 68 years, 8 months and 7 days. He had been a resident of the Puxico area all his life. He and his wife Judy own Bills Market in Puxico. He was a former owner of Richards service station and other markets in the Puxico area. He was a member of the Puxico Masonic Lodge #596 AF & AM. He loved to ride his Harley Davidson motorcycle, spend winters in Texas and hang out with Jack Wilson. He was a veteran of the US Army. Surviving are his wife Judy Richard of Puxico, Missouri two sons and their wives: David and Laura Richard of Ballwin, Missouri and Danny and Janice Richard of Fenton, Missouri, one step-son and his wife: Randy and Jodie Williams of Arnold, Missouri, one grandson: Matt Richard, three granddaughters: Stacy and Jackie Richard and Mia Williams, two brothers: Jerry and his wife Carole Richard of Wappapello, Missouri and Gary Richard of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, his mother-in-law: Genevia Langston of Puxico, Missouri, and a special brother: Fred Utley of Licking, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by three brothers; twins, John L and Clide Richard and Arvel Dean Richard. Friends may call after 5:00 PM on Sunday, September 25, 2005, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri with Masonic services being held at 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 26, 2005, in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Puxico with the Rev. John Buttry of Puxico, Missouri officiating. Interment will follow at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Puxico, Missouri. Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico, Missouri is in charge of arrangements.
