Verna B. Cameron Verna B. Cameron, the daughter of the late Perry and Nancy Eads Ruby, was born in Newport, Arkansas on November 14, 1914, and passed away at the Missouri Southern Healthcare Facility in Dexter, Missouri on June 27, 2005, at the age of 90 years, 7 months and 13 days. Mrs. Cameron had been a resident of Parma, Missouri most of her life. She had been a grocery clerk for many years in Parma, Missouri and had been a cook on a river boat. She was a member of the Parma General Baptist Church. On January 28, 1933, she was married to John Narvel Cameron in New Madrid, Missouri. He preceded her in death in February 26, 1974. Surviving are one son and his wife: Donald and LaVonda Cameron of Parma, Missouri, one son-in-law: Harold Fleming of Parma, Missouri, sister: Myrtle Parks of Russellville, Arkansas, five grandchildren: Patty Timmer and husband Jim, Tina Durham and husband Chris, Chad Cameron and wife Crystal, Angie Dugan and husband Allen, Debbie Stogsdill and husband Rodney, fourteen great grandchildren and thirteen great great grandchildren. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by 1 daughter: Verneta Fleming, 1 grandson: Hal Fleming and 2 sisters: Vertie Lee Williams and Eula Mae Ruby. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 29, 2005 at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Parma, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2005, at 10:00 A.M. in the General Baptist Church in Parma, Missouri with Rev. Don Cooper of Dexter, Missouri, Rev. Joe Williams and Rev. James Black both of Malden, Missouri officiating. Interment will be in the Mounds Park Cemetery in Lilbourn, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Parma, Missouri in charge of local arrangements.
